2016 International Women's Day event

The Skaneateles Rotary Club held a double celebration Thursday, March 3, when it packed the Sherwood Inn for International Women’s Day. The event drew more than 90 people, including 60 guests and 30 Rotarians and their families. The event celebrated the great women in the Skaneateles area community, and it paid tribute to Rotary with the slogan “Be a Gift to the World” The event raised nearly $1,000 for the Skaneateles Rotary Foundation. The International Women’s Day Committee and the Rotary Board of Directors will donate the money to a designated cause. The committee is recommending it go to St. Joseph’s Hospital, which is raising money to purchase a 3D imagining unit for the Breast Cancer and Surgery Program, which was outlined at a Rotary meeting the week before the event.
