The Beginnings: President Terry led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Program: Mike Tierney who joined our club during the pandemic told us about his "Space Cadet Odyssey" from growing up just outside of NYC to landing in Skaneateles. Mike's journey took him from New York to DC to Munich to Dublin and finally to the Finger Lakes. Attending George Mason University Mike earned a degree in electrical engineering and put his knowledge to work at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center working on remote sensing which allows photos to be taken from spacecraft. Mike showed us a practical application taking us to the "far side of the moon" using the Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera website. Leaving NASA after 10 years Mike went on to work on signal intercept systems at Argon and attended night school to earn his law degree specializing in patent law. From there Mike and his family moved to Munich, Germany for six years and then on to Dublin, Ireland. After a few years in Dublin Mike was recruited by JMA Wireless to work in Central New York. He and his family settled in Skaneateles which Mike said is "the perfect place to be". I think we all can agree with that and also that we are happy to have Mike as our fellow Rotarian.
The Endings - .Terry led us in the Four Way Test
