Each year our club participates in the District's grant program which offers a dollar for dollar match for club projects. We're looking for ideas for a small grant ($500-$1000) for the 2021-2022 year. Funds can be used to fund small scale short term activities that address needs in our community or communities abroad. The project should include Rotarian involvement. In the recent past our grants have helped provide dental equipment to an underserved area, Shelter Boxes, fund for YMCA/Community Center Scholarships, funds for ClearPath for Vets canine program, and construction of paths at Baltimore Woods. If you have an idea let Mary Giroux know (mfgiroux0614@gmail.com). And, there will be Grant Management training on February 27th.

The Program John Rooney told us about the plans for the Sunrise Club's annual Winterfest which will be a little different this year due to that nasty COVID. Winterfest will begin next Saturday, January 30th and continue for a week. There will be one large community ice sculpture this year, sponsored by local businesses and others. The scavenger hunt is also continued for this year as a way to encourage visiting local business. Completing and submitting the scavenger hunt phrase will result in an entry to the raffle with the top prize being an annual membership to the YMCA. Although the traditional "Taste of Skaneateles" will not take place this year patrons are encouraged to visit local eateries on their own. More information and access to the website is below.
