The Program - Blessed Eric Knuth, Superintendent of the Skaneateles Central School District was our guest speaker. Eric told us about challenges facing the district due to COVID. He then went on to talk about the upcoming vote on the capital project which would take place in 2023-2024. Eric explained how funding for projects works with NYS aid providing 62.5cents for each dollar the district spends. He also explained that the timing of projects is crucial to minimize the impact on school tax rates. The capital project on the ballot will include a lot of repairs and upgrades to HVAC, masonry, roofs and bathroom facilities. After COVID struck the district had to reexamine priorities to improve building ventilation and optimal use of space for social distancing. Eric asked for our support and referred us to the SCSD website for additional information.
The Endings - John O. led us in the Four Way Test. Next week's meeting is a Zoom meeting.
