Greetings Skantarians! In the coming weeks we will be able to participate in two service projects and enjoy two 'away' meetings. A nice change of routine. The service projects are the Baltimore Woods 50th Anniversary 5K next Sunday and a highway clean up detail that will be put together by fellow Skantarian Roy MacDonald on a date TBD - thank you, Roy! The offsite meetings will be the DoubleDays baseball game on August 25 and the Pancake Breakfast thank you, and Incoming YE Welcome picnic on September 15th; sign up sheets for both are still in circulation, don't wait. Please also check with PP Cheryl Silvestrini regarding ticket sales and help if you can with our newest fundraiser. Thank you, one and all.

DOUBLEDAYS BASEBALL NIGHT - August 25
The August 25th meeting will be at Falcon Park, Auburn. Doubledays vs Tri-City ValleyCats. Game starts at 7:00 PM. Plan on a fun evening with fellow Rotarians, family and friends. Advance tickets are $8, which include $5 concession stand coupon.
Let us know how many tickets you need by by no latter than Thursday August 18th meeting, which will enable us to obtain a "block" of seats for our two Skaneateles Clubs, family members and friends.

Club Assembly - Prior to dinner a brief Club Assembly was held. The following items were discussed.
Service Project---Baltimore Woods 50th Anniversary 5K on 8-21. Members who volunteer for this will receive a "make up".
Picnic - Annual Pancake Breakfast Thank you & Incoming Youth Exchange Welcome Picnic will be held on September 15th in the St James Fellowship Hall. Lee Bennett is coordinating his event. A sign up sheet for the picnic was circulated. (see more below)
Adopt A Highway - Our club agreed to participate in the Adopt a Highway Program. Roy Mac Donald is our program leader 4 200 Club Fundraiser
200 Club - Cheryl announced that has 90 tickets left for our members to sell. Cheryl plans to start drawing tickets on September 1st. (see more below)
Rotary Leadership Institute - Ward encouraged members to attend the upcoming Rotary Leadership Institute in Verona. Club members that attend with be reimbursed the $75 fee. (see more below)
Legion Garage Sale-Robin asked members to bring any items they have to the Legion for their large garage sale. Proceeds from tis sale will be sued to refurbish the Legion building.
Doubledays Baseball Night---Our August 25th meeting will be in Falcon Park, Auburn. Bill Conole is coordinating this event. A sign up sheet for the game was circulated. To ensure our block seating & favorable ticket prices we need to know how many members, spouses & friends plan to attend by the close of next week's meeting on 8-18.
Program - Finger Lakes on Tap - Our speaker Tom Ieradi opened Finger Lakes on Tap last September. Initially Tom was a chemist & a chemistry teacher. For more than 20 years he worked for a large pharmaceutical company. As a hobby Tom began to brew beer. Tom's home brewed beer's won many local, regional & state beer brewing awards. After finishing 2nd In a prestigious national beer brewing contest Tom decided to open his own craft beer pub & restaurant.
Finger Lakes on Tap has 60 craft beers & 2 craft ciders on tap. Finger Lakes on tap is open 6 days a week. On Tuesday Tom cleans the tap lines. Tom noted that craft breweries are becoming very popular in NYS. Today there are more than 100 craft breweries in a 100 mile radius from Skaneateles.
Suzette Grinnals recommended that we have a club meeting in the Finger Lakes on Tap in the near future. Bill Conole will set his up.

Sam Owori is selected as 2018-19 Rotary President
Samuel Frobisher Owori, of the Rotary Club of Kampala, Uganda, is the choice of the nominating committee to be the president of Rotary International in 2018-19. He will be declared the president-nominee on 1 October if no challenging candidates have been suggested.

200 CLUB - Fund Raiser ... by Cheryl
It may not be as exciting as cracking eggs or flipping pancakes, but the 200 Club Raffle is an easy way to raise money to benefit community and youth groups.
Here’s how it works: we sell 200 tickets at $20 each totaling $4,000. We give away $1500 in prizes which leaves us with $2500 to use for worthy causes. We will sell tickets throughout July and August. Two $50 prizes will be drawn at our Club Meetings on 9/1, 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, and 9/29. On 10/6, we will draw a $250 winner, as well as the $750 Grand Prize winner. Also, all weekly winners will be put back into the raffle and be eligible for the Grand Prize!
We need to sell all 200 tickets for this raffle to make it work as outlined, so please consider selling at least 5 tickets to family, friends, co-workers, etc. – and don’t forget to buy your own! Cheryl will have tickets available at all weekly meetings. If paying by check, please make payable to Skaneateles Rotary Foundation. Be sure the contact information is completed on the ticket and give that portion of the ticket to Cheryl along with ticket money/checks.
