Front Desk Duty!!!
Marv Langley and Mary Giroux are the scheduled front desk members for our next club meeting on March 19th. Remember that if you will not be able to attend the meeting you are scheduled for it is your responsibility to find a replacement.
March 5, 2026 Meeting
Bradley Wilson opened the meeting by welcoming our guest Sheri Dove from Operation Xmas Hope for Veterans.
The following are announcements:
"Sleep in Heavenly Peace" service project on Saturday, Feb 21 was a success! Thanks to everyone who was able to come out to help build beds. There was a lot of sanding this time. Also, a big shout out to Mary Giroux who was the only women from our club to participate!
Bill announced there were some calender updates for the year which include new speakers for the meetings. On April 2nd, there will be Andrew Lunetta from Tiny Homes for Good. On April 30th, speakers will be Devorah Nadeau and Michele Devlin from Hospice of CNY. Also, on May 7th, the speaker will be Eric Pager who is a Wellness Expert. The updates in the calender can be reached via the newsletters or the website.
We are currently behind on recruitment. Consider bringing a prospective new member to the Spring Party on May 14th.
There will be a happy hour next week at the Legion at 5:30 pm cohosted by Rosemary Mondo and Lee Bennett. The next regular meeting will be March 19th at the Sherwood with speaker Lisa Smith from the American Red Cross.
Sheri Dove who is currently the Town of Skaneateles' Veteran Outreach Coordinator talked about Operation Christimas Hope at the meeting on Thursday. She discussed this is a private organization that provides veterans, active military, and their families in need with food, clothing, and gifts during the holiday season. This organization has been in existence for the past 11years. It is able to provide fresh cuts of beef, chicken, and pork during the holiday food drive each year as well as grocery store gift cards. During their fourth year of existence, they were able to expand their services and can now provide help with rent, mortgage, heating needs, home repairs, vet costs for animals, back to school supplies, medical supplies, and can even help with tires and break services. If you know a veteran that could benefit from this program, feel free to contact them confidentially. For more information, please visit xmashope.org, and consider donating to this great cause if you can or volunteering your time if you are able.
Bradley thanked our speaker Sheri Dove, as well as the entire staff at the Sherwood. The meeting ended with the Four (Five) Way Test.
The Board of Directors approved membership applications for Thomas and Lorena Billone. Thomas and Lorena live in the Village and are sponsored by Ed Evans. We've met them at a number of meetings as guests of Ed. If there are no objections, Thomas and Lorena will be inducted on April 2nd.
President Lizzy Martin sent a message saying the main CNY Rotary Facebook page was shut down by Facebook so everything has been moved to a new group called CNY Rotary News Network. Please check out the new facebook page! This is where everything from the news network, leadership team, and events are shared.
