Happy Holidays to All!

Wishing each and every one of you, your families and friends a beautiful holiday season. The club will meet again on January 5th 2023. No meeting Dec 22 and Dec 29.

Board of Directors Mtg notes ... by Mary Giroux

Your Board of Directors met on Dec 1st.The following is a brief of the discussions and actions taken.

Attendees: Ed Evans, Jay Stith, Mary Giroux, Andy Stevens, Dave Lee, Duane Weaver, Rosemary Mondo, Dale Drake, Doug Hill, Marv Langley (Rotarian/Foundation Board) and Bill Buterbaugh (Rotarian/guest)

Minutes: Minutes from the November meeting were approved (Motion by Mary, second by Dale).
Holiday Fundraiser: Final preparations for the December 8^th fundraiser at the Skaneateles Country Club were discussed.
Holiday Club Party: The party will be at the Sherwood. Spouses and significant others are invited. Details to be arranged.
Club Meeting Structure: Bill B suggested that in the near future the current meeting structure which has been in effect for a few months be reviewed to see if club needs were being met. Speaker scheduling was also discussed and members are asked to help with this.
Member Recruitment: As a result of the October outreach there are potential new members. It is important to keep the process moving and members were asked to reach out to potential new members.
Zoom Meetings: Providing access to meetings by Zoom was discussed due to the number of members that are out of area in the winter months. Dave Lee offered to provide the Zoom option for weekly meetings. Members will be asked to RSVP to Dave Lee each week advising that they would like to attend by Zoom. If there are no RSVPs for a week Zoom will not be available.
Financials: Marv reported on Foundation finances as of Nov 30, 2022.
Worthy Causes: The following were approved for worthy cause donations (motion by Andy, second by Rosemary):
     Barrow Gallery
     Skaneateles Lake Association
     Winterfest
     Honor Flight
     MOST Museum
Next meeting: To be announced

ZOOM..ZOOM....ZOOM!!!

Dave Lee has graciously volunteered to set up equipment so that winter club meetings can be attended by our snowbird members. Meeting format will continue to be dinner first and then the speaker at about 7:15. Club members who would like to attend by Zoom must RSVP to Dave Lee by the Monday evening just prior to the meeting. Zoom will only be set up if RSVPs have been received. Membership/Attendance - 39 active members, 18 attending

Guests -Many spouses attended as well as Ben and Bill Eberhardt, our Sherwood Inn hosts.

The Beginnings - President Ed called the meeting to order and led us in the Pledge.

The Program - Club members and their guests mixed and mingled with each other during the evening. The Sherwood Inn outdid themselves with a variety of delicious victuals. A champagne toast provided by Bill Eberhardt was enjoyed by all. Ed noted that this is our 48th year of being hosted by The Sherwood for club meetings. A big "thank you" to the Eberhardts and all of The Sherwood staff for their great service and food! As the gathering dispersed there were many wishes for Happy Holidays and the upcoming New Year.

Note - Next meeting is Jan 5th. More info to follow regarding the program.

New Meeting Schedule!!

Members voted in favor of a new meeting schedule for our club. Starting in August the schedule for meetings within a month is:

First Thursday - Dinner meeting with speaker. Meeting starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00
Second Thursday - Optional attendance at Happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30.
Third Thursday - Dinner meeting with speaker. Meeting starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00
Fourth Thursday - No meeting
Fifth Thursday (when applicable) - Dinner meeting with speaker. Meeting starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00

With fewer meetings attendance is more important than ever!
