ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS (RYLA) ... by Ward
Each summer thousands of young people are selected to attend Rotary-sponsored leadership camps or seminars in our world. In an informal  atmosphere, 50 to 75 outstanding young men  and women spend two days to a week in a challenging program of  discussions, inspirational addresses, leadership training  and social activities designed to enhance personal  development, leadership skills and good citizenship.
The Skaneateles Rotary clubs have participated each year in the District 7150 RYLA held at Cazenovia Collage each July, but sponsoring two or more students that have exhibited outstanding leadership and community service.  Our club's RYLA Chair is Lori Ruhlman, and the selection is made in conjunction with the SHS teachers.  This year, we are sponsoring:  Hannah Drake & Sarah Parker  When you see them about the community, offer our congratulations and wish them well.
The 2016 p RYLA will be held July 8, 9 & 10 at Cazenovia College.

LAST WEEK: .... by Bill Conole
Announcements - Prior to dinner, after announcing birthdays & anniversaries, President Cheryl reminded everyone that this evening's meeting is dedicated solely going over final plans for our 2016 Fathers Day Pancake Breakfast.
Program - Pancake Breakfast Pre-setup Briefing - Breakfast Chair, Chuck O'Neil passed around the 2016 Pancake Breakfast Responsibility and Assignment Roster & asked the members to be sure to review what their assignments are. After Chuck O'Neil went over the set up plans for Friday & Saturday mornings. Chuck reviewed the Responsibility & Assignment Roster by position, by name. Chuck asked everyone who is available to pitch in & help set up the Austin Park Pavilion on Friday & Saturday mornings. With a good turnout of members the set up tasks can be completed by late Saturday morning. Everyone should report to the Austin Park Pavilion by around 6:30  so we can have the first batch of pancakes ready by 7:30 AM. Our breakfast ends at 1"00PM. Chuck urged everyone to please stay after the breakfast ends to help take down the tables & chairs & clean the building. If most of the members help after the breakfast, the clean-up can be completed in a few hours. On Monday morning we will need volunteers to help pack everything up & return it to Dave Lee's. Chuck introduced this year's Vice -Chair Mary Giroux. Chuck praised Mary for the way she is digging in & rapidly learning the many details of our pancake breakfast. In closing Chuck noted that our pancake breakfast is a great way to bring our club & our community together. This is always a happy event & Chuck urged everyone to have fun this year.
