NOTICE - New Members Proposal
The SRC Board of Directors approved the membership applications of Bradley Wilson and Kelley Wilson by email vote. Brad and Kelley reside on East Lake Road in Skaneateles. Brad is a real estate salesperson with Finger Lakes Sotheby's International Realty and was a Rotary member for many years in California. Kelley is self employed as a Marketer/Social Media Manager. Kelley says, "I love to be an active community builder and enjoy being engaged in local efforts to elevate all aspects of our (and neighboring) communities."
Brad and Kelley have been familiar faces at many of our meetings. Brad and Kelley are sponsored by Lori Ruhlman. If there are no objections made in writing to the Club Secretary, dues are paid and Brad and Kelley have received Rotary information, they will be inducted into our membership at our July 18th meeting
LAST MEETING, Jul 11 ….. by Bill Conole
THE BEGINNING; Bill Buterbaugh opened the meeting by leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance and welcoming our guest John Kopley. ANNNOUNCEMENTS: >New Member Induction: Bill asked Mike Tierney to induct and welcome Corey Bond Bauman. Corey owns and operates The Bond 1835 Inn. In accordance with Rotary traditions and protocol Mike formally initiated Corey into our club. Mike presented Corey with a Rotary t-shirt, a Rotary cap, and Rotary pin. Our members welcomed Corey with a standing ovation. >Community Service Projects: Ayham noted that Polo for Preemies (Crouse Hospital) is asking for our club’s help on Sunday July 28th from 11:00 to 4:30. Ayham stressed that this year Crouse need volunteers to assist with this event. He urged club members to contact him ASAP. Help is needed with various “light tasks” and will only take a few hours, so please contact Ayham and volunteer your help for this critical fundraising event. >Youth Exchange: Bill announced that our new YE Chair, Jay Stith is seeking a YE host family to host a student from late August to Thanksgiving. Please ask your neighbors and friends if they will be willing to host a YE student . You can contact Jay Stith for additional information on this. >Service Project: Bill asked for volunteers to help the library wrap up and clean up after this year’s book sale is over. Mary Giroux will announce the date and time for this project. Last year, with several volunteers, the clean up took less than 2 hours. >Ward Vuillemot: Bill mentioned that Ward is having some increased mobility issues. Bill asked members to reach out to Ward to cheer him up. >Rebounding” YES: Lee Bennett announced that that our returning YE students, Ella and Lilly, now called “Rebounders” will be our program next week July 18th to informally share their YE experiences in Brazil and Belgium. Lee urged all of our members to come to next week’s meeting to welcome our Rebounders back home. >Board Meeting: Bill announced that our next club board meeting will be held on August 1st . >Happy Hour: Please note that our next Happy Hour will be at Craig and Barb Froelich’s boat house on 101 W Lake Street, on August 8th . Please try to join us in this beautiful setting. >RSVPS: Please show up when you RSVP our meetings. Now the club has to pay for no shows. This expense will be passed on to members.
THE PROGRAM: Changing of the Guard
>Bill Buterbaugh called outgoing President Doug Hill and incoming president Ayham Boucher forward for the Changing of the Guard Ceremony. On behalf of the club Bill thanked Doug for his year of service and welcomed new club president Ayam. Doug handed Ayham the club gavel. >Year Recap: Bill briefly recapped our successful Rotary Year noting the following accomplishments:
--Our club had a very successful fundraising year for Polio+ and for the Rotary Foundation. -Youth Exchange, Bill congratulated YE Chair Lee Bennett for reviving our club’s YE Program. Bill welcomed Jay Stith as the new YE Chair. -Service Projects-Last year our club conducted monthly service projects with strong member support. -New Members-Our club welcomed a record ten new members last year. >New Board Members: Connor Finlay, Vince Magnotta. & Joe Bianculli. Bill thanked outgoing board members, Dave Lee and Mikek Tierney. As our next club president Andy Stevens will remain on our board. THE ENDING-New President Ayham thanked Robin and Ed for setting up our dinner. Ayham said he is humbled by having the honor to lead our club in the coming year. Ayhamled us in the (Four + one) Five Way Test
