Financials: Jay reviewed the Foundation financials. We are in good shape. The Karen Price Scholarship for the 2025/2026 Rotary Youth Exchange year has been awarded to one student in the amount of $3300 or 50% of student expenses, whichever is less. Jay will obtain receipts for expenses for reimbursement purposes.
Worthy Causes: The following expenditures were approved: Finger Lakes Trust, Skaneateles Foundation (for Easter Egg Hunt), Skaneateles Community Band and Advocates Incorporated. The Board also discusses funding for Troop 61. David Lee will be asked to provide information regarding this.
Youth Exchange Update: Jay advised that we have one outgoing student for the upcoming year. Eric Michel will be going to Italy in August. We have one inbound student and the Michel family has agreed to be the host family for the first portion of the year. Two additional host families are needed. Lena, our current student will be scheduled to give the club a presentation on her experiences.
By Laws Update: Jay advised that our By Laws should have a provision for voting by email. Conner brought up some other issues related to the By Laws. Andy has a Rotary contact knowledgeable in this subject. We will ask for a review of our By Laws.
Pancake Breakfast: Mary asked that ticket prices be reviewed. It was discussed and the decision was made to leave them at last year’s price, $10 for adults and $5 for children. It was also decided that couples that are both club members will be responsible for the sale of one packet of tickets rather than two. Ticket distribution will be at the May 1st club meeting.
Rotary Signs: Andy updated us on the signage issue. He has been in touch with Chris Legg, Town Supervisor regarding this. He and Chris are looking into a vendor for the signs.
Grants Webinar: Andy attended Rotary training this past weekend and learned of grant monies available from the District. The club needs two attendees to attend an online seminar on Sunday, March 23 from 7 to 8pm. Club members will be asked to volunteer at the club meeting.
