 Board of Directors Meeting by MaryYour Board of Directors met on January 4, 2024 Attendees: Jay Stith, Mary Giroux, Andy Stevens, Dave Lee, Rosemary Mondo, Ayham Boucher, Ed Evans and Bill Buterbaugh (guest) Minutes: Minutes of the November 2023 meeting were approved. Scout Troop 61: Our club is the charter sponsor of Scout Troop 61. Dave Lee is the charter organization representative. Dave introduced Laura Rodormer, Peter Georgiana and Audra Schweska who brought the Board up to date on the Troop’s activities and growth over the past year. The Troop is now composed of boys and girls and includes members from Skaneateles, Elbridge and Port Byron. Financials were reviewed including new fundraising initiatives and increased expenses due to increased fees to both national and local councils. Increased collaboration between the Troop and Rotary in the future was also discussed. After Troop representatives left the meeting the Board discussed financial support to the Troop. A motion was passed to make a contribution to the Troop with the expectation that future years’ financial support would be reviewed each year. Financials: Jay reviewed the Foundation financials and results of the Holiday Basket Dinner. Checks have been issued to Skaneateles Food Pantry, Spafford Food Pantry and Skaneateles Outreach. Worthy Cause Approvals: Donations to the following were approved by the Board: Sarah's Guest House, Skaneateles Lake Association, Honor Flight and the Barrow Gallery. Exchange Student Program: Jay updated the Board. Jay and Lori will be meeting with the high school next week to review the new Karen Price scholarship. The club will have one inbound student for the 2024/2025 school year. 2024-2025 Officers: Potential officers and Board members for the July 2024 Rotary year were reviewed. At this time the roster is: President – Ayham Boucher President Elect – Andy Stevens Immediate Past President – Doug Hill Secretary – Mary Giroux Treasurer – Duane Weaver Sgt at Arms – Chuck Williams Board Members: Jay Stith and Rosemary Mondo (through 6/30/2025). Vince Magnota (through 6/30/2026). Two additional members are needed to serve through 6/30/2026. The club’s Annual Meeting to elect new officers is tentatively planned for January 18th. Happy Hour Hosts: Bill B. advised that Happy Hour co-hosts are needed each month and will pass a sign up sheet around at the club meeting. Next meeting: March 7, 2024 at The Sherwood. |

After reciting the Pledge, Ayham wished us all a Happy New Year and welcomed club members and guests of Lori: Sharon O'Connell, Christy Lemp and Don Lemp. John Devins started the meeting as a guest but we are pleased to report that he ended the meeting as a full-fledged member after being inducted by Rosemary. John is sponsored by Marv and we are delighted to welcome him to our club! Bill B asked for co-hosts for the year's upcoming Happy Hours. The first Happy Hour is next Thursday, Jan 11th at the American Legion. Bring a friend!
On Saturday, February 10th, our club will be helping Sleep in Heavenly Peace assemble beds at the Finger Lakes Mall in Auburn (inside by the Savanah Bank entrance). There is a short registration before we can start helping so the organization is asking we arrive between 9:30 and 10 am on the 10th. The project runs until the early afternoon but if people can only come for part of the day that is fine.
