Baltimore Woods Creates New Virtual Content
...... info provided by Rotarian Dale & Stacy Drake

Challenges Of The Virtual World
With the many challenges we are presented with during these trying day, I attempted turning some virtual wood. It was fun and my imagination went wild in the creation of a multi segmented vase with feature rings.  However, I did not like the results as it would not take a suitable finish, it was difficult to share the results with other. .... so I am back to the real stuff. However, when I run out of wood in the shop, I am afraid the furniture will have to be sacrificed.
BTW, I have included and photo of the project with this article. (on the right)

Strange Conversations in My Home
Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down! Actually I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking coffee and we all agreed that things are getting bad. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron straightened me out as she said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The vacuum was very unsympathetic... told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over! The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion and didn’t say anything but the door knob told me to get a grip. The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to ........yes, you guessed its .....pull myself together.
Crouse Health Requests Mobile Devices
to Connect Patients and Families ...  provided by Rotarian Craig F.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the state mandated visitation restrictions, Crouse Health has a significant number of patients who are not allowed visitors at this time.
We also have Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) families, living both locally and at great distance, who can only have one parent visiting at a time. FaceTime, Zoom and other technology platforms will help our Little Fighters bond with their parents.
We are in need of the following devices so we can help more patients “visit” with their families and friends:
  • iPhone 4 or later generations
  • iPad Pros
  • iPad Minis
  • iPad 2 or later generations
  • iPod touch 4th generation
  • Amazon Kindles
  • Any Android device that has a front facing camera (will be set back to factory settings)
Both new and used devices will be accepted, and before distribution to patients, they will be sterilized according to guidelines from our Infection Control team.
To contribute one or more devices, contact the Crouse Health Foundation at CrouseFoundation@Crouse.org or 315-470-7702 to arrange for pick-up, drop off or shipping information.
In addition to hardware donations, financial donations have always played a critical role in furthering the mission of Crouse Health. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to the continuity of the hospital’s work. Your support will provide our heroic physicians, providers and staff with the tools they urgently need to care for our families, friends and neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I'm Enjoying Growing Old ... by Ward
During the past few weeks, I have had lot's of time thinking of the aging process I and many of my friends are experiencing, which can be a wee bit depressing at time, but then I reminisce the fun and exciting years and experiences I have been blessed with.... and the humor I see and hear around my world.  Let me share with you a few that I have seen recently.
"My mind still thinks I'm 29, my humor suggests I'm 12 while me body mostly keeps asking if I'm sure I'm not dead yet"
"I see people around my age mountain climbing, I feel good getting my leg through my underwear with out losing my balance."
BTW -  can any one tell me where I just put down that wood turning gouge 30 seconds ago?

The customer service desk at Tops confirms that they have Senior Only Shopping hours between 6:00 - 7:30 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the COVID-19 crises.  ... by Ward

The Skaneateles Central School District, in conjunction with support from our community members, the Skaneateles Ecumenical Food Pantry, and Skaneateles Outreach, is offering meals to anyone who needs them in the difficult weeks ahead. Breakfast and lunch are available to any family, regardless of income, who needs assistance at this time.

Our kitchen will be open to prepare meals for our community over the next few weeks. You do not need to have children in the school system, and you do not need submit any financial paperwork. These are unsettling times, and we, along with the generous support of our community, will be extending our table to all of our families.
