Skaneateles Bookleggers at Work ...by Ward
Over the past week, Skaneateles Rotary Bookleggers have gleaned and packed another pallet of books from the Skaneateles School District , which we topped off with two cartons from the Tully RC. (State Street & Middle schools). That brings Skaneateles Rotarians up to a total 44 pallets or 1056 cartons (aprox. 77,000 lbs) of gently used books recycled from the Skaneateles Community, and sent to the children of the world, since the projects inception in 2008. WAY TO GO Skaneateles Bookleggers!

THE PROGRAM - Honoring CNY BFTW Book-Ends
Ward Vuillemot, CNY BFTW Founder, briefly reviewed the time-line and major events of the CNY Books For The World, which commenced in 2008 and continues to service the children of the world with gently used books from Central New York Rotary clubs.
Ward identified and honored two Rotarians with PHF's who he called his Book Ends to the project due to their exceptional support. Hal Brown, a Tully Rotarian, who has been with the project from the beginning and has played a key role during its formation and ongoing success, and Gary Ozminkowski, the current Operations Manager, who stepped up to plate and took on the logistics and key operations tasks, which allowed Ward to step back from the project and allow it to continue into the future in good hands. Hal was a major partner in the start up phase and ongoing project, Gary has been key in keeping the operations sustainable.
Many, many Rotarians from across 5 CNY districts have, and continue to, contribute signifiant time, talent and treasures to BFTW over the past 12 years. Ward acknowledged all of them and stated; that without them, the project would not have happened and continued to so successful. Each of them deserve "Top Honors" for Serive "Above Self" and "Well Done",
50/50 was won by guest, Alec Osircki. The Queen of Spades still awaits us.

A Fun Service Opportunity ... by Ward
Each year the VVS High School, FFA puts on a Maple Breakfast on Saturday & Sunday mornings over two weekends. This is their biggest event of the year. The dates are March 21-22 & March 28-29 from 7:30 till noon. They are a small group & asking for volunteers. Click Here of the readers prize drawing.
This is the group of students that we obtain our Maple Syrup from to sale at our Father's Day Pancake Breakfast, which the students harvest and process.
