Sharon O'Connell was inducted into the SRC on the 29th of February. Sharon was the library media specialist at Skaneateles Middle School and now fills in at Cayuga Community College. She was known for pulling off programs of local and global impact: preserving the stories of WWII veterans through eighth graders, and organizing a Kazakhstan exchange program in the Middle School. She has attended Rotary events and has always admired Rotary and its focus on service … and how it works to connect people within the community and around the globe, without religious or political affiliation. ROTARY ~119 Years of Service Above Self
On 23 February, our wonderful organization completed 119 years. A fantastic journey of service so far...but still miles to go. We are "this close" to eradicating polio, and our efforts in peace building are the most required in today's time. On this Anniversary of Rotary, let's all recommit ourselves to the service of the world community through whichever avenue that engages us the most. Rotary has something for each person's interest and passion for service.
LET'S COME TOGETHER IN BINGHAMTON
We hope all members of the future CNY Rotary districts (D7150, D7170 & D7190) will plan to join us for our joint conference April 26-28, 2024 at the DoubleTree in Binghamton, NY.
