If you can help out please call Jack Hyatt 685-6274 or cell 247-8897 or email him at jdhpaint@verizon.net .

PRESIDENTS' CORNER ... by Pres., Bill Conole
Points of Inspiration
1 - Attended an Auburn Rotary Club meeting last week where the Auburn Club inducted 6 new members, 3 women & 3 men, all under 50. The Auburn Club now has 46 Active members, 21 Honorary members & 8 Corporate members. Equally impressive, the club has raised nearly $150,000 over the past 2 years. Recently I've visited 8 Rotary Clubs. A few clubs are thriving & some are withering. In the coming months we should focus on how & why clubs are thriving & why some are withering.
2 - Clear Path - Visited Clear Path for their Wednesday "Canteen" weekly luncheon for veterans. Inspired by the many veterans my son Francis & I met & by their strong & warm comardery.  Immensly impressed with the Clear Path Canine Program Orientation our September 6th Speaker Ryan Woodruff gave us.
3 - John Katko - Impressed witht the many thoughtful questions our members posed to John Kato. Our members inquiries made for a stimulating evening.
4 - Next Week -Auburn Doubledays Baseball Game. Join us for a relaxing evening in Falcon Park as the Doubledays cap off a successful season. Arrive early, (around 5:45) to park close to the stadium. Watch our club president throw out the 1st pitch like Sandy Koufax.
5 - Special thanks - to Tim Donovan for setting up our John Katko meeting & for coordinating our Doubleday Baseball Game meeting next Thursday.

LAST WEEK  .... by Mary Giroux
THE BEGINNINGS
President Bill welcomed our many guests and speaker, John Katko and staff, Jeff Bishop and Kiera Wainer.
THE PROGRAM -  Congressman John Katko spoke briefly and then opened the floor for questions.  A number of issues and concerns were brought up by club members and guests:  the current mood/attitude of the country and elected officials, the effect of recent tax legislation on the economy and workers, women's participation in discussions on reproductive rights, progress on funding for addiction and mental health, the availability of health care in the U.S., firearm legislation and the availability of federal funds for all school districts to deal with mental health issues..  Congressman Katko offered his position, experience and actions taken with regard to these issues.
THE ENDING
Take me out to the Ballgame! - The August 30th meeting is the Auburn Doubledays baseball game at Falcon Park, 107 N Division Street, Auburn.  Park across from the stadium. Identify yourself as a Rotarian at the ticket booth and you can get a half price ticket ($5).  Enter at Gate 2 where Tim Donovan will be working security and direct you to seating.  Arrival time is 5:45 pm.  President Bill will throw the opening pitch!
Woof-Woof - Ryan Woodruff who directs the ClearPath for Veterans canine program will be our guest speaker on September 6th.  He will be accompanied by Glory, a beautiful young Labrador retriever who is currently in training on the path to become a service dog.
50/50 - will return on September 6th
Guest - Congressman John Katko, and staff Jeff Bishop and Kiera Wainer, PDG Deb Glisson and many others, too numerous to list

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
