CNY Books for the World goes NFP - At the CNY BFTW Committee meeting, earlier this month, it was decided to incorporate and apply for a 501-(c)-3 not-for-profit status, to assure its sustainability. The project was started in Skaneateles, by Rotarian Ward, almost eight years ago to send a few cartons of gently used children books to South Africa, and has since grown into an organization that covers all of Central New York and that has gleaned and shipped 19 forty-foot sea-contains of children, text and library books to numerous third world locations in our would. Well over 100 Rotary clubs and other organizations have participated in the efforts. CNY BFTW has also has spun off a sister organization, WNY BFTW that is organizing similar efforts in Western New York (shuffling off to Buffalo). Through the magic of Rotary the idea and passion of one Rotarian can grow into a project that can have a positive affect on thousands of children in our world. Why become an active Rotarian? This is but one reason.

There will be discussion and workshops to bring you up to date on current and future District and Rotary operations, events and projects. There is no cost to attend. Auburn Rotary Club 100th Anniversary - The Auburn Rotary Club is to celebrate its 100th Anniversay on Sunday, April 12th. Of note - Auburn RC sponsored the Skaneateles RC in 1927, so that this a special occasion for Skantarians as well.
