CHILDREN'S BOOKS Needed .... by Ward
We just received more books from the Middle School last week. I packed 5 cartons of excellent library books, and with Chuck O'Neil's strong back an help, added them to those currently in our storage area in the garage behind "Taste of Finger Lakes". This brings us to within 7 cartons of completing the 24 carton pallet, thanks to books we have received from State Street School library and the several cartons of children's books dropped off to the collection box at Gard Lorey's dental office.
Remember, we are still looking for Thrice Looked Children's Books; those books that you children and grandchildren loved and enjoyed that in good condition so that we can share them with the children of the world to enjoy and love them as well. Contact Ward at 247-4449 or wardtv37@mac.com if you have any of these stored in you closets, under the stains, or wherever, and he will pick the up from you and they will be a part of the our next pallet gleaned for Rotarian CNY Books for the World project.
Cider & Donuts for Trick or Treaters Skaneateles Rotary provided cider and donuts for the community youth at the Skaneateles Interact Annual Haunted Hallways, which was held at the High School. Fun, treats and goblins aplenty for young and young at heart. Our thanks to Brad for chairing the activity, along with: Doug, Robin, Dale, David and Ward who assisted.

Annual Christmas Fundraiser, Dec. 6th
... by Cheryl Silvestrini
The Skaneateles Rotary Club’s Annual Christmas Fundraiser will be held on Thursday, December 6th, at the Skaneateles Country Club. We will begin with a happy hour at 6 p.m. followed by a family-style turkey dinner at 7 pm. Tickets are $30 and can be reserved in tables of 8 or 10. Contact Amy Tormey at tormeyesl@verizon.netfor reservations.
Don’t Forget…The organizing committee needs our Rotarians’ support in securing raffle prizes. The goal is to have at least 50% of attendees win a prize. While local merchants and professionals will be canvassed again this year for donations, all Rotarians are also asked to donate prizes such as a bottle of wine, a gift card, etc. Click for Readers prize drawing. Please let Roy MacDonald or David Piper know in advance of the event what you will be bringing in the way of a prize. Even if you can’t attend the event, please contribute a raffle prize.
200 Club Fundraiser... by Cheryl
It may not be as exciting as cracking eggs or flipping pancakes, but the “200 Club” Raffle is an easy way to raise money to benefit community and youth groups. Here’s how it works: we sell 200 tickets at $20 each for a total of $4,000. We give away $1250 in prizes which leaves us with $2750 to use for worthy causes.
We will sell tickets starting 10/18/18. Two $50 prizes will be drawn at our Club Meetings on 11/15, 11/29, 12/13, 12/20, and 1/3. On 1/10, we will draw a $250 winner, as well as the $500 Grand Prize winner. Also, all weekly winners will be put back into the raffle and be eligible for the Grand Prize!
We need to sell all 200 tickets for this raffle to work as outlined, so please consider selling at least 5 tickets to family, friends, co-workers, etc. – and don’t forget to buy your own! Cheryl will have tickets available at all weekly meetings. If paying by check, please make payable to Skaneateles Rotary Foundation. Be sure the contact information is completed on the ticket and give that portion of the ticket to Cheryl along with ticket money/checks. Thank you and good luck to everyone!
