Memorial Day Parade - Rotarian Veterans Participate .... by Mary Giroux
Fellow Rotarians Bill Conole, Robin Jowaisis and John Moran, all veterans of the Vietnam Era braved the chilly temperatures and teeming rain to march in the 2017 Skaneateles Memorial Day Parade honoring fallen service members of the United States Armed Forces. Also marching but not pictured were Dale Drake and Roy MacDonald. The parade began at the American Legion Post on Jordan Street with ceremonies at St. Mary's Cemetery and Lakeview Cemetery. The final destination was Shotwell Memorial Park, the site of honor rolls of men and women that have served in conflicts throughout the years. After a new wall of honor for service members of the Middle East conflicts was dedicated a flyover concluded the ceremonies.Thank you to all Rotarians that have served our country.
